This symbolic drawing by Nijinsky was an image he regularly repeated – the eye of the circle of life.
It was presented to Paul Cox by the Nijinsky family when he made his film ‘The Diaries of Vaslav Nijinsky’in 2001.

The family endorsed the film as a true representation of Nijinsky, unlike the previous film. As Paul explained on choosing several dancers to portray in his film, not just one star, ” Nijinsky was many people. Nobody gave Nijinsky a voice when he was alive, so I have let him speak.”
Dancers Leigh Warren and David McAllister were two of the people who portrayed Nijinsky in his various roles, on screen.
