Forget-Me-Not

Announcing the first of the Good Grief Gigs to take place during the Castlemaine Fringe Festival next March. Art-full Living will host two arts events and workshops to empower the community around grief, loss and bereavement by expressing grief through creativity. By connecting to community and opening conversations about death and dying, the aim is to increase wellbeing in the community in preparing people for death and to reduce social isolation. Grief Counsellors and experienced local artist-facilitators will provide guidance and support.
Forget-Me-Not is a series of workshops to bring people together to share their stories and create a large-scale memorial art project, led by a local artist, turning recycled plastic and tinfoil material into a flower to honour someone or something they have loved. The flowers will be installed in Victory Park in the centre of the town, to create a Memorial Floral Shrine.
Join us on the first three Saturdays in March to create your flower – 1st, 8th, 15th March, 11am -1pm at the Northern Arts Hotel, Barker Street, Castlemaine, culminating in a ceremonial installation on the first day of the festival – Saturday 22nd March. Celebrate your loss, create your own tribute…share your story, make something beautiful from your loss.
