We are launching a new group of regular events focused on love and loss to make people feel supported in their darkest hours and accept that grief is a part of life, that it should not be locked away.
This is endorsed by the scientific proof that that the chemistry invoked by engaging in the arts affects your mind and body…that it transforms your brain and charges your wellbeing.
The festival will consist of a series of Creative Workshops and events run by professional artists and administrators to work through loss, using art to open conversations and work through experiences by making art and connecting with the community.
The workshops and events aim to turn fear and grief to good grief through pottery, photography, singing, dancing, writing, sewing and crafts to celebrate and heal through the arts.
The plan is to reduce social isolation in end-of-life care and bereavement, to spotlight the wonderful organisations and groups already doing great work in Central Victoria and help kickstart a few more. These events aim to stimulate different ways of thinking and provide opportunities for conversation and community spirit that will last through the events and beyond. They will involve multiple venues, partners and art forms for all the community to find something to try.
